Cadbury spreads the joy of giving for Christmas

In line with the festive season and spirit, Cadbury invited us to experience their Joy of Giving experience onboard their Joyrider!! Nurul and I were early so we walked around Cathay playing around with the Casio Exilim EX-ZR1200. We were very impressed because even the normal shots had a slight beauty effect about them!

Zero image editing on my end, this was straight from the camera! I like how the camera makes you look younger :3 All photos taken in this entry are from the Casio Exilim ZR1200 :)

All aboard the Joyrider! In a recent poll conducted by Cadbury, 91% of Singaporeans prefer to give presents as opposed to other means of giving and 76% said that they like giving gifts as they are able to share joy with others. My favourite part of giving presents is watching the receivers reaction. You can tell alot by the initial look through the expression in their eyes and excitement in their voice! (Unless of course, they're already seasoned, trained professionals).

Singaporeans' 3 top emotional draws they receive when giving are "happiness", "joy" and "love", which I wholly agree with. Seeing other people happy makes me happy too!

The inside of the Joyrider transports you to a purple sky with beautiful snowflakes and christmas cheer. If you're wondering about the star effect, that's a function in the Casio Exilim ZR1200! Pretty neat huh.

Until I forgot to switch the mode back to normal. Turned out alright and the camera is pretty smart in detecting faces! Again, loving the natural looking, flawless skin effect. The Joyrider had many accessories on board for you to wear and take pictures with to get you into the Christmas mood!

It was a rainy day that afternoon, but on board the Joyrider made me imagine that the raindrops were like snow.

Of course, being on the Joyrider, you'll have plenty of... Cadbury chocolate! Everyone became starry-eyed as they were served chocolate that never seemed to run out. DREAM COME TRUE.

As part of Cadbury's Joy of Giving campaign, hop onto Cadbury's Joyrider for free on:

14 Dec 1-5pm at Downtown East or
check Cadbury's Facebook page for more locations, routes and times you can hop onto the Joyrider until Christmas!

Riders aboard will enjoy a fun-filled journey into Joyville - Cadbury's mythical and joyful land with tons of chocolates and magic!

Happy campers helping themselves to the chocolate. The kids were bouncing in their seats the whooole way. Nobody was crying (how could anyone cry when you're stuck in a bus filled with chocolate??)

Along the way we played a few games, shan't spoil them for you, but winners get additional goodies like Cadbury exclusive merchandise not sold in stores!!

I played and walked away with a Cadbury tote bag. Woohoo!!

We stopped at Singapore Flyer to take photos with the bus to commemorate our Cadbury experience.

And also forgot to switch my camera back to normal mode, but the photos turned out nice anyway! Here's our shot with the Cadbury Joyrider crew.

And another with everyone on the bus!! See how many kids there were??

Here's another shot without the star effect, photo credits to Cadbury!

As part of the “Joy of Giving” campaign, Cadbury will be donating S$1 for every S$15 purchase of Cadbury products (up to S$30,000) and additional donations will be collected on the Joyrider. All proceeds will go to the Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund.

Spread the joy of giving! To find out more about the poll from fellow Singaporeans, click on the infographic below!

Photos are taken with a Casio Exilim EX-ZR1200, thank you Casio, and thank you Cadbury for this amaazing afternoon transporting us to Joyville!

What else is there to do in Sentosa?

Singapore's Sentosa Island has been drawing lots of attention in recent years, with the establishment of Resorts World Sentosa; Universal Studios, a spanking new casino as well as the introduction of the S.E.A. Aquarium. But there's also another attraction that hasn't garnered as much attention - the Sentosa 4D AdventureLand - which I managed to try out last Sunday.

It's been a while, Mr Lion.

So what is Sentosa 4D Adventureland, you might ask - Well, it's a series of shows designed to give viewers a truly immersive experience whilst they watch a short animation. The use of 3D screens and animation, accompanied by simulator seats and other ambiance creating devices make the audience feel like they're truly part of the film. It's also great that some of the animations used involve familiar characters from other Warner Bros films!

Rides follow a fixed schedule and are clearly displayed on mounted TVs, and this helps visitors to plan their rides to optimise the time spent there. We decided to start with a Wild West interactive ride, which was appropriately named "Desperados". In this ride, visitors get to play gun slinging cowboys or cowgirls, complete with horseback simulator and pistol. Once the ride began, we were able to shoot at targets on the screen while galloping on our steeds. Everyone's score is tracked and top scorers get their picture on the scoreboard (try to beat my score of 657)!

Following which, we decided to catch something decisively cuter - the Happy Feet ride, which brought us into a simulator experience tailing Mumble and his fellow penguins. This turned out to be a lot more exhilarating than we imagined, and really kept us on our feet (oops, pun). This ride also served as a simple lesson on the food chain in Antarctica.

The extreme log ride doubles up as a screening area for Happy Feet!

We later made our way to the largest ride in the 4D AdventureLand - the Journey 2 ride, which was an absolute treat for the senses. I shall not spoil the surprise by mentioning what happens during this ride; you'll have to see for yourself. Hint: only 1 of the 5 senses is spared!

How adorable is this girl?!

Take photos of your proud cowbow moments! :)

Overall, we enjoyed the rides we managed to catch (there's the Log Ride that we missed because I was rushing off to a family dinner). The 4D AdventureLand is a great place that the whole family can enjoy, and the tickets allow for unlimited rides, so children can re-live the rides they enjoy the most.

Directions:

Getting off the monorail at Imbiah station, Sentosa 4D AdventureLand is up before the Merlion and a flight of escalators. visitors will also pass by a pair of parrots that one can hold and take a photo with (at a small fee of course).

Review:

Pros:
+ Great for families with kids
+ One ticket allows for unlimited rides
+ Short waiting times

Cons:
- The rides are the star here, peripherals such as photo spots are lacking.

Be sure to check it out for a great day with the family!

Thank you Sentosa for the afternoon of fun!

Which is the best mattress? Definitely Sealy's

My Sealy adventure was a great exploratory journey, and has truly made me appreciate what a good bed should be like. In the beginning, it took me a while to get used to my bed, there was some tossing and turning before falling asleep, waking up with a stiff neck because of my incompatible pillow and trying new sleeping positions.

Despite the initial adjustment, one thing was still certain - I woke up feeling refreshed.

After my body adjusted to my Sealy, I was so comfortable that I would fall asleep almost immediately after my head touched my pillow. I even tried playing with my phone to try and see how long I could stay awake but once I closed my eyes for a bit... I drifted off to sleepland.

Sealy's Posturepedic matresses are specifically engineered to give you the ultimate comfort with their unsurpassed quality and support that lasts years. It's UniCased plank is a shock absorber and distributes your weight and pressure which keeps your body aligned while you sleep.

On my old mattress, I used to wake up randomly in the middle of the night just because my back hurt. I've stopped having that problem every since I switched to my Sealy, and I know that every night while I'm resting, my body is getting the perfect balance of support, comfort and durability, manufactured and tested to the highest standards :)

This journey brought me through bedsheet shopping, room re-designing, to cleaning a stain off my mattress (naughty Squishy!!) and now I know that I'm a converted Sealy fan for life.

I spent many hours researching possible and interesting information that people would like to know about , and did you know that sleeping on your back with your arms at your side is generally considered to be the best sleeping position for spine health and it’s good for your neck, too? (as long as you don’t use too many pillows) However, people who sleep on their backs usually snore more than other positions and may cause sleep apnea.

I usually alternate between sleeping on my left and right side, but sleeping on either side has implications too. Sleeping on the right side can worsen heartburn while sleeping on the left side can put strain on internal organs like the liver, lungs, and stomach (while minimizing acid reflux).

I like how Sealy has a wide range of beds available in a range of comfort feels to suit your needs and preferences. Prefer a softer bed? Don't want a bed with memory foam? Head on to their flagship store and try the beds for yourself, choosing the right bed is so important to help you feel energised and ready to face the day, plus you deserve the ultimate night's sleep.

Leaving you with this infographic I found off the internet for people who experience pains when they sleep or are on the bed. Enjoy!

How to remove fresh stains off your Sealy Mattress

It's been almost a year since I've had my rabbit Squishy, and she's brought me so much joy just watching her hop around or munching on hay. She's also very mischievous and naughty, she's already bitten through my brother's and my speaker wires, she likes to squeeze herself somehow to hide behind the computer (yes with more wires) and she eats dust.

Don't let that innocent size fool you

Whenever we let her run around the house we make sure that she's adequately supervised. Earlier this month I started to let her run around my room, only if I'm inside myself. She likes to hide in a corner of my room and just lie down knowing she's the princess of the household.

She likes to show off her cute tail

Wednesday evening was no exception. She was hopping around, and I went for a quick shower. After I got out, I went around looking for her in her usual spots, but couldn't find her. Feeling a little tired, I went to my room and found her on my bed. How did she get there?!? I thought. My Sealy bed is quite a height from the floor, and I suspected that she jumped on a box near my bed and jumped up again.

As she saw me approaching, she stared at me with her beady eyes, and I went all soft inside. "Aww Squishy how did you get up here?" I asked her. She is terribly afraid of heights so I knew I had to carry her down. As I picked her up, I felt that her fur was wet, and an alarm went off in my head. Ohhhhhhh no.....

I quickly returned her to her cage and began operation Remove Stain off Sealy Mattress.

This also applies to other stains like blood, soiled beds etc.

Step 1: Tear off your bedsheet/pillowcase/bolstercase

Get everything that has come into contact with the stain, off your bed before it spreads!! I threw this on the floor first because the mattress is more time sensitive. If it seeps all the way in, it will encourage the growth of mould, which you definitely do not want.

Step 2: Use a wet cloth to blot the area on your mattress

Take a piece of cloth, wet it with cold water, squeeze it dry, and blot the area on your mattress. Doing this helps to soak out the stain.

IMPORTANT!! If the area of the stain is quite big, start on the edges and work your way towards the center so that the stain does not spread!

Step 3: Use a dry cloth to blot again

This is to absorb the moisture you just introduced to the mattress. If you rub instead of blot, this will cause the stain to spread or sink more deeply into your mattress.

Repeat Step 2 and 3 until the stain lightens.

For Squishy's pee, it was slightly yellowish and even though I did Step 2 and 3 multiple times, the colour was still slightly visible. Then I did this.

(Optional for acidic stains) Step 4: Use saline solution

Grab your nearest saline solution and apply around the area of the stain. Then blot with a dry cloth. Don't use too much saline or it will seep into your mattress!! I used a little bit at a time and after blotting, checked to see if it was still yellow.

After a few times (with a lot of patience and determination), the yellow stain was removed! The only evidence of it ever been there is a little friction around the area because I was getting frustrated and rubbed the area ahaha.

Step 5: Use a hairdryer to blow dry!

Plugged in my trusty hair dryer and helped speed up the drying process. Don't put it too near the mattress though or the coils might expand and warp.

(Option B) Mixing water with salt

If that didn't work for you at all, mix two teaspoons of salt into a cup of cold water. Pour into a spray bottle and spray on the affected area, then blot with a dry cloth. After most of the stain is out, use a wet cloth to clean up and then dry again.

Disclaimer: This worked for me but I can't guarantee it will work on your mattress. Try at your own risk! I don't take any reponsibility if it doesn't work or if your mattress somehow gets mouldy or gets worse.

--------------

Super happy that my Sealy is now back in it's tip-top condition! Was mad at Squishy for a while but who could stay mad at this adorable face?!

Ignore her paw that's a little dirty, if you please.

If you've tried everything and the stain isn't coming out, plus you've had this mattress for about 10 years, why not consider getting a Sealy mattress?? My back doesn't ache anymore and I wake up more refreshed than ever.
