The Body Shop's Winter Trends 2012!

Hey everyone!

I know I haven't been updating, or active on twitter much, but my instagram is still alive k. Have been spending more time with the people around me and my family! Also have been reflecting about some mid life crisis issues hahahah. Looks like 2012 is almost over, we're still in one piece, if we live through the 22nd remember to be grateful k!

Christmas is my FAVOURITE time of year, so you gotta match your feelings with your look so here's where you pick up The Body Shop's winter trend series!!

Was invited by The Body Shop some time ago for their Christmas blogger's special!

The Smoky Moonstone for an easily achievable smokey effect! Bring this along with you and you'll be able to transition from a day look to a night look :)

We were allowed to play with the make up and use The Body Shop products to create our winter look!

Really love the gold and copper brown eyeliner!! It doesn't make you look sleepy at all but makes your eyes sparkle and look alert! Here's some of the products I used on myself.

Can't forget a few puffs of shimmer. Very cute design!

Absolutely LOVE this!! Just a few swabs will contour your face, giving the illusion of a smaller frame immediately! This is being snagged at stores as we speak! Haha.

The angled kabuki brush is perfect to sculp your cheekbones with!

Larry's work of art

Here's one of Larry's tricks to apply mascara on your eyelashes! The mascaras that I use don't clump my lashes much, so I'm fine. Another trick it to comb through your eyelashes after applying your mascara with an eyebrow brush!

Food wasn't very fantastic imo, but would you go to a bookshop just to have food??

Travel sized hand creams!! I carry one with me to work :)

Learning make up tips from Larry, who doesn't like highlighters under your eyes to bring out your cheekbones haha.
With the newlywed bridge!! :D I hadn't used the face contouring powder yet though!

Still not yet!

Pretty Evon. Her hair colour is always so nice!

Next, we headed downstairs to The Body Shop's store in Ion! Imagine this, two DSLR-wielding photographers, followed by a throng of about 10 females, looking pretty in The Body Shop's make up and smelling fragrant! Yes, everyone in The Body Shop looked at us and some passers-by stopped to look out for celebrities! Some asked what was going on, and poked their heads into the colourfully themed shop.

Was a pretty funny moment hahah. Check out the new items in the store!!

Dazzling rocks with Kabuki brush again!! Can't get enough of this. Please get your hands on this before it's all sold out!

Sigh, don't you just love christmas. (Am also playing christmas jazz songs on my computer now hahah)

It's so hard to find a company that truly believes in giving back to the community. I remember reading The Body Shop case studies in university. They've come a long way!

So, tis the season to be jolly. I hope you've gotten your presents for your loved ones already! Otherwise... why not consider
  The Body Shop!
Your solution. Haha! Plus, there's something for everyone to use!

Isn't this adorable? My brain told me that it was in a shape of a gingerbread man but it's actually in the shape of a snowman :( Yvette laughed at me.

If you haven't been convinced, here's my last shot. FREE GIFT WRAPPING!! So you don't have to do it yourself :P

My face after the contouring! Not sure if you can see it, but I look much more radiant here!!

Before I go, please spare a few seconds to vote for me in The Body Shop's challenge!!

You'll also stand a chance to win prizes for yourself!!

Thanks so much guys and have an amazing christmas with your loved ones! :)

Elizabeth Arden's Beautiful Color Eye Shadows Winter Eyeshadow look

Got my hands on Elizabeth Arden's new winter eyeshadow colours!! The colours are VERY easy to apply on and the colour stays easily! Really loving the brilliant colours that are perfect for the Christmas season.

Plus, the eye shadow line uses Retinyl Linoleate and antioxidants to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles!!

DUO COLOURS

SINGLE COLOURS

Gotta point out that 'Aquamarine' is gorgeous!! If you want a sweet, good girl look for Santa and Christmas, then check out their more pastel eye shadows like Innocence, Seashell and Sandstone!

The range comes with matt finishes and pearl shines, so you will definitely find a colour that matches your skin tone and suits the look you wanna go for!

Managed to get my hands on Golden Ivy and Shimmering Emerald. I just LOVE these two colours on Asian skin!

"To be beautiful is the birthright of every woman" - E.A.
And of course their signature quote serves are a great reminder to all the ladies out there!

Check out their new eyeshadow packaging! So classy and elegant.

Each Eyeshadow single (2.5g) is SGD 34 and each duo colours is SGD 46!
That's Golden Ivy on the left and Shimmering Emerald on the right.

Golden Ivy above and Shimmering Emerald below!

Did a quick swatch on white paper so that you could see it for the colour it really is.
The picture below features the two eyeshadows onmy lids! Golden Ivy on my inner lids and Shimmering Emerald on my outer lids.

As you can see, Golden Ivy isn't very dark and you can easily achieve the smokey effect with Shimmering Emerald!

My shading isn't symmetrical because my eyes are of a different shape. If you notice, one eyelid is parallel and the other is tapered, so my smokey eye has to be higher for my tapered lid!

See what I mean? My eyes look even here right? Hahaha. This Christmas will be spent with family and relatives, and to the people close to my heart. My favourite season of the year!

Diet plans start in Jan :P

Guardian Haraju-cute Body Spray and Mask

If you've swung by Guardian recently, you'd have noticed a gorgeous Japanese products corner called Haraju-cute!

Just a quick update to share three products with you! On the left, Body Fantasies - Freesia Fantasy is a popular Fragrance body Spray that is great to bring around in your bag. Just a few spritz during the day will keep you feeling fresh and smelling great!

The mask on the right is The Rose of Versailles Lady Oscar Face Mask (White Rose) which contains pearl extract that helps your skin get a glowy, radiant look. Plus, I always liked Japanese Masks more because they suit Asian face shapes! Massage excess serum into your skin so you can maximize the advantages!

*EXTRA* Also check out their wide range of liquid eyeliners with 0.1mm thin brush tips that are smudge proof and waterproof to keep your eyes looking pretty all day! They have soo many samples out on display for you to try before you buy, and these eyeliners are so precise you can create your perfect winged look!

All items come with english translations at the back so don't worry if you can't read Japanese.

Happy shopping!

Elizabeth Arden's new fragrance Red Door Aura

Red has been my favourite colour for the past 2 years or so, so you can tell I especially love Elizabeth Arden get togethers because I get to gush about the colour red even more. Okay now I sound a little crazy. Haha.

We met at Cedele, (Raffles city shopping centre) for brunch with 10 girls. It felt like a morning bachelorette  party or something haha.

The theme was Code Red, which explains my red bodycon dress for brunch! Most of the girls didn't realize the theme on the invite though. I was the only one in a red dress. Oops.

Didn't know if people were ordering mains or brunch... but the apple cinnamon pancakes were screaming out at me from the menu... Just HAD to get that. Added an extra scrambled egg because I need eggs in my life. Accompanied with freshly squeezed orange juice and my brunch was complete.

Think Yina and Julie were pretty unhappy with their beef stew though, and with good reason. It looked like curry chicken instead. At least they managed to get their order changed! The food took quite long to arrive though, even though some had only ordered salad.

It was reaaaallly sweet, the sausages were bland, the omelette could've been 'wetter', but I was quite contented with my meal. It wasn't inedible so I was alright :)

After we had finished, we proceeded downstairs to Raffles City Atrium to check out Elizabeth Arden's corner!

Spot anything different from Elizabeth Arden's previous collections? Hint: A red door?
The new range of Elizabeth Arden eyeshadows come in this new packaging! With an indented door on the powder once you open it. Really loving the new design.

Their eyeshadows now have Vitamin A to minimize fine lines and wrinkles, Vitamins C and E to neutralize free radicals in your eye area, and Advanced pigment technology which allows the powder to create a layer to 'float' on top of your eyelid instead of seeping into fine lines!

The 32 new shades offer colors in warm and cool tones, as well as a multitude of finishes ranging from matte, low lustre pearl, pearl and high pearl. Get ready for intense, buildable colours to suit the look you're after!

Was really excited to try the new colours! With anti-aging benefits, each palette at $34 is considered a steal.

Sarah darling *hearts* Poor girl has to lug her huuuuge leopard print make up bag all around the island for her wedding/bridal make up appointments that day! Am still touched she carries and uses the leopard print puff I bought for her from Japan. :)

Saw this super pretty limited edition zebra print collection FREE with a minimum spending amount. Like what the?! I want!

Bunbunmakeuptips' face, Julie!

Some of us had our makeovers done first, while the rest of us proceeded to a hands on activity and be introduced to Elizabeth Arden's new scent for younger women!

It's not as musky and intense as Red Door. It's more floral, light but still oozes class. In short, I love it!

Their pink bottle reminds me of a younger sister to the Red Door. A younger form of sophistication but reflects a confident, effortlessly beautiful lady.

We got to play with some of the scents to create a little perfume charm, which I immediately hung on my bag. Throughout the day, I was receiving compliments and people were wondering where the smell came from! Haha.

Pictured is the 30ml Aura fragrance.

Eau de Toilette Spray Naturel
Red Door Aura 30ml - $59
Red Door Aura 50ml - $91
Red Door Aura 100ml - $114

Available island-wide at all Elizabeth Arden counters! I would strongly recommend you to have a whiff if you like floral, fruit scents.

Love the soft feminine sensuality and elegance emancipating from the smell!

Top Notes: Luscious Raspberry, Bergamot Lily
Middle Notes: Orange Flower, Rose, Jasmine Petals,
Base Notes: Creamy Amber, Sandalwood, Soft Musk

Top notes are what you'll smell immediately when you first spritz a little perfume on, and the base notes are what you'll be smelling nearing the end of the day.

So I finally had my makeover, and here are the pictures!

 Before and After

What do you think?

I know the lighting is off and all, but I have a soft smokey look :) I think I look plain in the left picture. I was also quite stoned because I was tricked to going into a thai club the night before.

My FAVOURITE picture from the event, because I forgot to bring my digi cam and had to rely on my handphone shots, so some of my pictures turned out blur... Pretty Yina, Tiphanie and Joey! I also like the positioning of Tiphanie's bag hahaha.

Plus, the model in the poster has an exceptionally dreamy look and is in a gorgeous dress. You get the drift!

Thank you Elizabeth Arden for the fun morning and afternoon! Shoutout to Isabel for the great chat whilst I was trying to stay awake and the bkt recommendation. The pork knuckle was delicious!

Will share about their new beautiful colour eye shadows soon :)
