Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate and Midnight Recovery Eye!

SocialHaus! Been hearing so many good reviews about it so was pretty happy when it was held there :) Michelle has been raving about this place so I shall head back another time for brunch!

Theme was sleepwear and I was happy for another opportunity to meet my blogger friends again!

With Selene, Bea and Yina! I shouldn't have worn sleepwear seriously they looked so glam!

Kiehl's wanted us to have the whole relaxing sleep-ready package, so they had shoulder and hand massages, scented tea tasting and some food for us to munch on! Each of us even had a sleeping mask and some packaged tea to bring home!

 My favourite for the day was the Rose Tea!

The Kiehl's Midnight Concentrate isn't a new product, it has been in the market for a while, but Kiehl's just wanted to share it with us because it's one of their best selling products!

Currently, the Midnight Recovery Eye and the Midnight Recovery Concentrate are my FAVOURITE night products to apply!

Initially, I was skeptical about applying products containing oil on my face. Won't that make my face oilier? I thought.

However, the concentrate adds essential and botanical oils, which aren't the same types of oil that clogs up your pores and causes pimples! Essential oils are highly concentrated substances extracted from plants that carries the distinctive essence of the plant, extracted using steam distillation. Botanical oils are oils obtained from plants that are fatty, dense and non-volatile, eg from roots, leaves, flowers, usually cold pressed or extracted by heat! So these are healthy oils!

The Midnight Recovery Concentrate restores your skin overnight using the essential and botanical oil blends. Lavender oil soothes inflamed/irritated skin and helps relieve stress and maintain emotional balance. Rose Essential oil improves skin-tone and conditions the skin by combating environmental damage and replenish skin oils! The evening primrose oil is rich in omega fatty acids which the body cannot produce on its own, which helps maintain hydration and elasticity



 
Midnight Recovery Concentrate: $90 for 30ml 
 The next morning after I've applied the Midnight Recovery Concentrate, I can feel a noticeable difference! My skin feels bouncier and softer, and has a healthier glowing sheen! Which explains why I've become addicted to applying it every night. The lavender smell is so rejuvenating as well!


How to apply? (Adapted to my preferences :P)



- Apply one drop of Midnight Recovery Concentrate on your index, middle and forth finger on your left/right hand
- Rub the other hand together to distribute the concentrate
- Inhale the smell. This helps to relax your body for better sleep!
- Press fingertips and pat concentrate onto your cheeks, forehead, chin and nose!
- If there's any excess, apply on your neck

Midnight Recovery Eye: $72 for 15ml

Midnight Recovery Eye contains Butcher's Broom (I know, when I heard this term I giggled too) which is known to increase microcirculation, to reduce puffiness and strengthens your delicate eye area overnight!

The eye recovery product also contains Squalane, Evening Primrose and Lavender to slow the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. My eyes have been looking fresher the morning after applying them! :D



Both Midnight Recovery products will definitely last for a VERY long time, since you're only using very little product each time! I've recently been catching myself poking my cheeks because it really feels bouncier #confession

Sally Hansen's Diamond Strength No Chip Nail Colours!

A friend told me this "Painting your nails is therapeutic."

And it is.

Whenever I'm bored or feeling a little too stressed on a weekend, I like looking at my mini collection of nail polishes, pick out a colour that matches my mood for my day, sit down and just apply! I prefer painting in the day because I can hold my fingers to the sunlight to ensure that I applied the coats thick enough, otherwise it won't look opaque. Plus, I don't know how I sleep at night but when I paint my nails at night, the next day they will be flattened or scratched -_-

My mini collection of nail polish comprises of OPI and Faceshop, but I've never tried Sally Hansen's before! So when I received a box of them, I squealed and painted my nails almost immediately. Here are the colours they sent me!

 240 - It's Chiff-on!, 170 - Bride to Be, 440 - Royal Romance

Fast Dry Top Coat, 330 - Fuchsia Bling Bling, 160 - Something Blue, 210 - Brilliant Blush

My nails are really brittle and break really easily, so I don't like keeping long fingernails. However, this Sally Hansen diamond strength range helps strengthen my nails for less breakage!! Plus I'm pretty klutzy and my nail colour chips quite fast, with the no chip for 10 days feature, my nail polish colour lasts longer and looks prettier!!

Don't you just hate it when your nail polish brush picks up uneven amounts of nail polish? One of the tougher parts of painting your nails is controlling the amount of paint that's on the brush. Too little and there's uneven polish, too much and your nail will bulge out (sorta). I liked how the brush was specially made for easy application and a smooth finish so it was easier to pick up just the right amount of polish!

My index finger isn't painted because, like I mentioned in a previous post, I went for my surgery and they required me to remove my nail polish on both hands, for the equipment to measure my blood/oxygen level accurately lol.

In 240 It's Chiff-on!
The colours are so pretty that I painted each hand a different colour. Still can't believe that I am protected from chipping for up to 10 days, due to their special formulated Micro-diamond mix that contains platinum and aluminium! Each bottle is only $13.90!

 In 440 - Royal Romance
So I did this manicure by myself, don't forget to apply a base coat to protect your nails!! Especially for darker colours, they are more likely than not to stain your nails yellow.

Meiji Amino Collagen to stay youthful and beautiful!

In conjunction with Meiji's 10th Anniversary of Meiji Amino Collagen in Japan. (Yes, 10 years!), I'm here to share their new and IMPROVED formula with you!

Decided to do a little experiment of my own to find out |how the Amino Collagen tastes like without any other flavorings, and to find out which tastes better!


Things you'll need
- Meiji's Amino Collagen
- A glass of water
- A glass of fruit juice (I used Mango juice)
- A spoon

Instructions
1) Using the spoon provided in Meiji's Amino Collagen, add a fully leveled scoop into the glass of water

After stirring, how the collagen water looks like!

2) Stir thoroughly for 1 min
3) Drink and evaluate the taste!
4) Repeat steps above using the glass of fruit juice

Conclusion
Tasted the mix with water and... it was fishy and unnatural. However, with the mango fruit juice, I didn't even taste the collagen at all! The downside of using the fruit juice is that the collagen didn't fully dissolve so some bits I ended up eating the powder. My fruit juice was cold so that didn't help speed up the dissolving process! Comparing the two, I will definitely not drink this with just plain water but fruit juice has my pick!

Plus, it was super easy to prepare and the container is adorable. It opens halfway so that you won't spill and for easier opening! Great gift for your mum too!

Skin Perfecting Toning Massage Oil

Intensive Toning Concentrate
Firms and tones the area! Here are two massage techniques recommended by a wellness expert.

 
 Place both hands around your ankle, rotate your hands in opposite directions and move your hands upwards from calf to thigh! It's pretty simple!
Massage into the skin using circular motions, pinch a fold (makes you kinda measure your fat) and roll the skin while moving downwards! Follow with light strokes upwards into the skin. Don't stroke down or your fats will go to your belly! Moving them up allows them to go to your chest area. Okay I added the last bit of reasoning hahaha.

Soothing and refining body scrub
Use this once a week so that my dead skin is removed and my new skin can breathe again! I love how the smell makes me feel like I'm rubbing fruit extracts, perfectly natural and preservative free :) Very gentle exfoliator!

 You can see the little particles inside! It really smells delicious. Resisting an urge to taste it hahah.

Toning body massager

Part of the set comes with a body massager. The ends look like little noses sticking out. It gets dirty easily , and friction prevents it from gliding on your skin until you first apply either the massage oil, the toning concentrate or the body scrub! Once you use it with the product, it becomes a charm to work with and I can feel my skin enjoying the massage!

 The third method of massaging, which I need to use the most often because of my huge thighs. I use this with the toning concentrate as well because when I tried it with the scrub, it was a little scratchy for me. So just decide on which area you want to massage and tone, follow the circular motions to massage the product into your skin religiously and you'll massage those fats away!

Rubbing it in a circular motion! Massager just glides on my skin. I could do this while watching tv or a drama. :D
